The Tower of Babel Series

In ancient mythology, humanity once spoke a single language. In the city of Babylon, a group of powerful individuals commanded the construction of a grand tower—the Tower of Babel—with the ambition of reaching the realm of the gods.

But their arrogance provoked divine wrath. The gods destroyed the tower, scattering humanity across the earth and dividing them into different linguistic groups. Misunderstanding led to division, conflict, and war.

Today, new Towers of Babel are rising across the world.

Intoxicated by the omnipotence that technology and modernity provide, humans now believe they can fulfill their every desire by exploiting and sacrificing the Natural World—without limits.

If the ancient Tower of Babel was built from bricks, then the modern Tower of Babel is built upon suffering and blood.

It is a tower of flesh.

Just as the gods of the past punished the hubris of humanity, so too will Nature retaliate, bringing destruction upon these cruel towers of the modern age.

Destruction is inevitable before a new world can be born.

Through this series of paintings, I seek to tell the story of the Tower of Babel and human civilization.

From ancient times to the present, humanity has trampled upon Nature, slaughtering and enslaving other beings.

Mass destruction of ecosystems, relentless pollution—these are merely the visible symptoms of a deeper crisis.

At the root of the Climate Crisis lies humanity’s ruthless exploitation of the Natural World.

We have built a Tower of Babel upon the suffering of the Earth.
